Tradition of conceit continues with the ad for the new Volkswagen Jetta. In the ad a gifted human being cuts off his wings, gives up flying "like a bird" and almost being a superhero to drive a car!
The advertisement may have been done to show-off that one would go to any length to drive a Jetta; But, giving up wings to drive a car doesnt really make the buyer smart, does it? Besides what length should one go to if considering a more luxurious car from the Volkswagen stable?
The new Jetta ad is well made and I like that, it's the story conveyed that I don't like. Why not a story where the car gives wings rather than taking it away?
Maybe it's reflective of today's economic conditions. Maybe it's Volkswagen telling me that it costs more than arms and legs to own a Jetta.
