Car advertising is perhaps the most disappointing as a category. Surprising because its perhaps also a category which is very close to a consumer's heart. As in, whether its your first Maruti Alto, or a sophisticated Honda City or the good looking Palio - the purchase decision is fairly important and thought through. So why does most advertising in this category not make sense?
Xylo - looks like something close to a tempo - and advertises a 'party' for a life! Even for that proposition, the models, the storyline, everything is cliche, and boring. It really looks like an ad that just had to be done - no solid customer insight, no benefit at all highlighted and absolutely no attempt to tell a story well. Very disappointing and lazy work.
