The whole thing is that ke bhaiya, sabse bada rupaiyya!!. Money can make one do anything, yes sir it can. When you see it make a national daily colour its news - you feel condemned by its power. Sanctity of black and white be damned.
All the important news that an editor so choosily picked to place on the front page became so hard and confusing to consume. Why would a newspaper go to the extent of confusing a reader about what is news and what is not? Thankfully its not all newspapers.
The celebrity and the uncommon layout would by itself have given the advertisement its due, why was the coloring of the news even necessary?
This is so much like in the movie "Guru" where the editor scolds his team for dressing up the newspaper in Guru Bhai's safari suit - well, that was a movie and he was scolding!!. This is real, I can only whine and complain.
The advertiser is by all means a large entity, but why in name of God would you want to show your might in this way? Is it in your good interest to tell the world that you can do what you want on the front page of the most popular english newspaper in this country.
