In the mobile handset space you have brands like Motorola and Sony doing cutting-edge, stylish ads. And here you have Nokia struggling to get something right! Besides the N series music phone commercial, every Nokia ad has been old-fashioned and unexciting.
This ad takes forward this legacy. Business communication is no longer boring - so why does this ad have to be? ‘Out of office, in the loop’! Perfect messaging – relevant, clear and articulate. But cannot be more A for apple – business, golf course, done-to-death line – come on!
Perhaps its internationally prescribed templates that's completely depriving these ads of any originality and creativity. What's more, in this kind of a challenging product category, there seems to be no attempt to make the product look good. Let’s face it – you wont buy this phone because of the way it looks in the ad!
Nokia needs a rethink on its advertising!
