The Mahindra Xylo launch ad was not impressive at all, but the new advertisement that's being called "Happy Legs" is quite ahead in terms of casting, appeal and production quality. Will it make me consider Xylo as my next car, i dont think so - i still do not like the Xylo's looks. Sorry I am a Fiat fan.
The advertisement is not exciting but I think a couple of things about this advertisement of Mahindra Xylo should work in its favor.
Firstly the ad is identifying the Xylo as a vehicle with good leg room for every passenger. Most car advertisements would just mention this in passing. To create a story around it is commendable.
Secondly, showing the Xylo as a preferred car of a prominent personality from the fashion industry and lot of eye-candy, can kind of have a softening effect on those who are not so swept away by the looks of Xylo.
What's bad is that its not coming through as a drivers car. Maybe that's intentional. Is it easy to drive? or is it super comfortable to be driven around?
I think the Xylo team should continue and take the "Happy" series forward. After legs what next? so that it can lead to a completely happy driving/driven experience.
