A year and half ago all the petrol bunks in Bangalore went dry for about a day or two. The headlines in newspapers screamed out "no petrol". Reva saw that as an opportunity to advertise! Good timing I had thought. Last week the de-regularisation of oil prices made the headlines and I was impressed to see Reva banking on the opportunity to convey how their customers are oblivious to the fuel price hike.
The electric car Reva is a unique product in the Indian market and one that is still relying on its early adopters.Hence, Reva seems to be content with the occassional news and articles in auto media. It's not a product that's advertised frequently. That said, advertisements such as this and one from the past do show that the team is watching out for opportunities.
Last month Mahindra announced about the acquistion of majority stake in Reva. Once the help from Mahindra starts to flow in we might get to see more advertisements for Reva. This particular ad however carries no company name.
