Saw this ad a day before Valentines day, on a relevant supplement in a local daily. Good timing I would say. Apart from the timing the two products being offered do get along well, unlike the typical buy one get one(or many) free offers that tempt you into buying even though you do not want one of the products.
Providing an opportunity to meet up to have coffee and coaxing one to do something to appear confident is a good strategy and should work well for both Clinic All Clear and Cafe Coffee Day. The crowd does seem to have slimmed down at the cafe Coffee Day outlets I visit.
This also is limited period and measurable, so at the end of it both brands will know if it was worth the money spent.
