The last time I wrote about Chevorlet Beat was about their print ad and I must declare that in between then and now one cute Beat has made its way into the family (not me, I still remain the Fiat fanboy). Thanks to the year-end offers and our own impulse.
So, its only natural that the new Chevy Beat advertisement gets my total attention. It did and I found it to be a nicely executed advertisement. In fact its the first car advertisement thats actually talking about its association with the owner over a few years. Most car ads seem like designed to sell for the moment, even if they are selling something like free maintenance for years.
"Plan ahead" is the new tagline for the Chevrolet Beat and the "heart" does not appear in the new ad, has it been dropped? (sad). The heart gave it a young, energetic and for those who-carry-heart-on-their-sleeve feel, and I will miss it.
The "Plan ahead" tagline at the end of an advertisement that shows off how Chevrolet Beat has been part of every milestone in someones life comes through as an after thought, and maybe it is. I like the fact that the advertisement is asking the consumer to plan ahead on probably one of their biggest expense, but thats also very open ended. I can plan ahead and go buy another car, why Beat? (just asking). Just because the guy in the ad had a beat, doesnt mean I should buy one, so what if it could accomodate a couple and their two kids and (maybe) their BIG dog. Not completely about the dog, if it were there it would have popped its head out of the window no? But our cars can accomodate as many as our hearts can!! so why the Beat. Maybe its the Beat's reliability, that it runs well, without problems for those many years. I hope consumers get their reasons to buy the Chevrolet Beat with this ad.
