I needed to see this ad twice to really appreciate it. I have seen people in exactly this situation - was the ad mocking them? Using them?
Nah! I think it is lovely. What I love about Cadbury's as a brand is that they really stick to their core story. Starting with breaking the myth that only kids need chocolates. To keeping it up campaign after campaign. The last 'pehli taareek' series also resonated with everyone in a strange interesting sort of way. And they backed it up with getting chocolates onto some corporate office desks on the first of the month, with a little note.
And now Shubh Arambh. What a nice follow through to the first commercial at the bus stop.
Instead of looking at boring, typical instances - like starting school, a new business etc etc - they pick up a very real, touching moment. Wearing jeans for the first time at the age of 45 - not easy! But worth it. So very cool to ease the fears with a little chocolate.
Love it!
